America is Under Attack, Some Republicans Are Working With the Enemy

Earlier this week, the nation celebrated the 17th anniversary of 9/11. It also marked the same anniversary of the war in Afghanistan, which is America’s longest war and counting.

But while the Afghanistan war drags on, with no end in sight, America is also officially engaged in a war with Russia. This new cyber war could be described as Cold War 2.0.

The cyber war with Russia became official when Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment revealed that 12 Russian military intelligence officers helped coordinate cyber attacks to sway the 2016 election. Military intelligence officers are state actors, and when a state actor attacks another nation that’s officially a war.

The scary thing about this new cyber war is a lot of Americans are still largely ignorant of the fact that they’re in the middle of a conflict. And I’m not talking about the Cult 45 members, who would still back Agent Orange if the White House was literally on fire. According to Federalist writer Peter Burfiend, “Americans, don’t care about Russia.” He theorizes that Americans are more concerned with jobs and paying bills than cyber spies.

However, America if currently at war with Russia, the score is currently 2–0, in soccer terms. Russia already installed a president of their choice and they’ve also managed to get a large chunk of the Republican party to buy into their thinking.

At this stage it’s pretty obvious. Apart from the deeply embarrassing sight of President Donald Trump overruling America’s intelligence chiefs in favor of Russian President Vladimir Putin, we also saw several Republican politicians traipsing over to Russia to kiss the “tsar’s” ring.

We’ve also seen former Trump critics, Senators Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul turn into Putin lovers overnight. Paul, who branded himself an isolationist, even said we should work with Russia to limit the size of NATO. But NATO was created to pushback against Russian expansion. That’s like saying we need to work with pimps to stop child sex trafficking!

In addition, we’ve seen Republicans block attempts to secure our elections and prevent the 2016 debacle from happening again. It looks like they don’t want to stop election hacking because they’re counting on it to help them win again! Mueller’s indictment also revealed that a Republican candidate for Congress sought help from the Russians.

In a blistering article, Washington Post columnist Paul Waldman indicted the entire GOP.

“In Congress, Republicans have undertaken an aggressive campaign to discredit and, many of them plainly hope, shut down the probe into the Russian attack on America,” said Waldman. “Though they mounted seven separate investigations of Benghazi, they are nearly united in their position that no further investigation into a hostile foreign power’s attempt to manipulate the American electoral system is necessary.”

Trump is also ripping apart the FBI and the Justice Department in an attempt to thwart further investigation into Russian collaboration. He smeared and fired Peter Strzok, the FBI’s top Russian spy hunter. And according to Rachel Maddow, Trump is getting ready to release information smearing Bruce Ohr, the DOJ’s top Russian organized crime expert.

This can only lead to one conclusion. Our country is under attack and some Republicans are actively working with the enemy. That is the definition of treason.

In his latest book, “The Plot to Hack Democracy,” intelligence expert Malcolm Nance says that the Founding Fathers created a revolutionary political system, but never considered one of the parties would be allied with the enemy. Let’s hope that doesn’t turn out to be a fatal design flaw.
