I’ve also noticed that many of the lauded tech entrepreneurs, such as Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, don’t have liberal values. Their values lean toward the right. Apparently some Silicon Valley denizens seem to be libertarians (sociopaths favorite political system) and have no regard for the larger society. Even worse, some of them are dabbling in a form of techno-fascism which embraces racism and sexism.

One could argue that the problem with many tech entrepreneurs is a combination of a failure of the American education system and the insularity of the tech world. The American education system seems to have failed to expand these peoples’ minds. They might be geniuses at coding, but they don’t seem to understand the big picture and this often gets them in trouble. Also, the tech world is largely white, male and wealthy and this can lead to tunnel vision.

Facebook’s Neo-Nazi Problem

Facebook is the 1,000-pound gorilla of the tech world/social media world. About one-third of the world’s population (2.6 billion) is on the platform. If you’re in the media world, it’s almost impossible not to utilize the platform for promoting your work and driving traffic to your site. But their business model is problematic. They largely make their money by offering users a free platform in return for monetizing their data.
