Why I’m Glad I Didn’t Put a Biden-Harris Sticker on My Car
I got my Biden-Harris sticker in the mail a few days ago, and I was going to place it proudly on my bumper, until a friend warned me against it. She implied that it might be wise not to display your political affiliation with tensions so high. On the same day, I saw a convoy of Trump supporters in oversized trucks parading up and down my street. It was a clear act of implied intimidation.
I felt much better about my decision after watching a video of Trump supporters terrorizing a Biden bus on its way to a rally in Austin, Texas. The MAGA cultists surrounded the truck, brandished weapons and followed it out of town. One Trump supporter was driving a hearse — no subtlety there.
Trumpists celebrate political violence.
Another brave Trump supporter even sideswiped a Biden campaign worker following the bus. And the alleged domestic terrorist later bragged about the act on Twitter, where he was egged on by other Trumpists. “That was me slamming the f**cker … Hell yea,” said a Twitter user called Eliazar Cisneros. Other Trump supporters urged him to take care of his truck, and seemed to ignore that he just committed an act of violence and intimidation.
And even worse was the reaction by President Donald Trump, leader of the Trump crime family. He seemed to be thrilled by the sordid event.
Just how Limited are Kamala Harris's Economic Policies? | Data Driven Investor
Most people are somewhat aware of Donald Trump's corporate tax cuts, anti-globalist trade policies, and protectionism…
“What a group. It’s like a hot thing,” said Trump at a Pennsylvania rally. Donald Trump Jr. also encouraged supporters to welcome Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) with a “Texas train.”
America is beginning to look very “third worldish.” Massive voter suppression, rumors of election rigging, political violence and journalists being targeted by security forces. And it’s not just me who feels this way. The New Yorker recently interviewed several members of the foreign press corps and they said they’ve seen this kind of social unrest in failed states such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
And Texas GOP chair Col. (rtd.) Allen West, a neo-fascist and genuine war criminal, gave an equally deranged answer. He called the bus attack fake news (even though the FBI is currently investigating it)
In a statement to the press, he also said, “Prepare to lose…stop bothering me. Maybe Soros can cut y’all another check in 2022.” (This is a reference to billionaire Democratic donor George Soros.)
Trump loves seeing his enemies assaulted
We’ve been watching this kind of insanity for about five years. Remember when Trump told his cultists he would pay for their legal fees if they roughed up protesters at his rallies? Or when he told a campaign rally to “knock the hell out” of protesters or when he called neo-Nazis good people after they staged a riot that led to the death of a protestor?
The president of the United States seems to take glee in pain inflicted on his opponents. He still brags about American journalists being shot by local police, an act that should make anyone who lives in the so-called developed world shudder in horror.
As I’ve said many times before, America is beginning to look very “third worldish.” Massive voter suppression, rumors of election rigging, political violence and journalists being targeted by security forces. And it’s not just me who feels this way. The New Yorker recently interviewed several members of the foreign press corps and they said they’ve seen this kind of social unrest in failed states such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
“It is stunning for me, as an African, reporting on it, that the same things that America has been lecturing Africa on appear to be happening right here,” said Larry Madowo, a Kenyan BBC reporter who’s covering the U.S. elections.
Democracy or tyranny?
One side of the political spectrum seems to be setting up a situation where they will refuse to accept election results if they don’t go in their favor. That situation doesn’t usually end well. The election is on Tuesday, but it’s not a choice between Democrats and Republicans, it’s a choice between democracy and tyranny. It shouldn’t be difficult to pick a side.
The Texas bus attack won’t be the last violent incident, as Trump has encouraged his MAGA cultists to inspect elections for alleged voter fraud. They plan to do this strapped with body armor and assault rifles. MAGA enthusiasts also blockaded freeways in other parts of the country. As Samuel L. Jackson said in “Jurassic Park,” “Hold onto your butts.” We’re in for a bumpy ride.
